Oh Canada! I have lived a large part of my life near the Manitoba/North Dakota border. So, many Canadian delicacies are found locally on this side of the border. So imagine my surprise when someone introduced me to this creamy, tangy dipping sauce that is ubiquitous north of the border, mostly in Manitoba.
This loso girl loves her a dilly sauce, and so I immediately had to try it. And once I tried it, I had to figure out how to make it. This is traditionally served along side chicken strips, but would make a good veggie dip, salad dressing, or sandwich sauce.
This is a mayo based sauce. I don't like mayo. If you're like me, you can substitute plain Greek yogurt. It will reduced the sodium as well.
This makes 2 servings at 105mg each. If you substitute Greek yogurt, it's about 35mg each.
Ingredients
3 tbsp. mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
1 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. chopped fresh dill
1/4 tsp ground mustard
a squeeze of lemon
Mix together all ingredients until thoroughly combined and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
