This fun nutrient dense cabbage does not get the recognition it deserves. Make this easy side dish for a quick weeknight dinner.
This serves 4 at 20mg of sodium
Ingredients
2 heads of baby bok choy, sliced in half
2 tablespoons sesame oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
4 tablespoons no sodium soy sauce
red pepper flakes
Directions
In a hot skillet, heat sesame oil
Lay baby bok choy in skillet, cut side down. Cook until browned.
Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
Add soy sauce and red pepper flakes and toss to coat.
Cook another minute or 2 until tender.
I love this recipe not only because its fast so its perfect for weeknight dinner, but the flavor is quite versatile. I will often toss in some sumac for a nice citrus burst that plays well with the sesame. Or adding cumin for a nice warm earthy flavor.
